The Plague

A plague, by definition, is an epidemic disease that causes high mortality.

The flu, while not a disease that causes high mortality, took down my whole group of friends. Last week Adriana came home feeling lousy. She starts taking medicine hoping to get better, but of course she doesn't, and soon enough the rest of us are feeling her sickness too. She came down the hardest though and ended up spending the whole weekend at her mom's house trying to recuperate. Thursday night Amber and I spent the night playing video games and coughing. The next morning I wake up to go to work and feel like shit, so I come to work, and sure enough, they sent me home sick. I took full advantage of this and went straight to bed when I got home. One of the many downsides to this plague is that we all had plans for the weekend. Friday night was Matador Nights, which is always a fun event, but this time Yellowcard was having a show. I missed out... I stayed home in bed while Amber, Cisco, Edward, and a few others went to enjoy the show, which apparantley was a great show. The next night we had planned on going to watch the Vagina Monologues, but we missed that show too, none of us felt up to it again. I stayed home sweating out my deamons while the rest of the crew (minus Adriana) went to the hot spot and partied. Throughout the weekend, Amber and Cisco came to visit me and keep me company while I tried to get better... I was so disgustingly gross... I didn't even change my pajamas for the entire weekend. My roomate, Krissy, and her boyfriend, Byron, took care of me all weekend. They gave me medicine and made sure I was able to sleep, Krissy even rubbed vicks on my chest and back... she's the cutest roomate ever! Sunday I felt a lot better and Amber came over to visit feeling like shit herself, and so the tables turned. I took care of her.

It was a long, miserable weekend for all of us, but we got through it. Hopefully we won't get hit with another plague for a very long time, we are all still trying to get our voices back the way they were. Especially Cisco... he misses singing.
